When do I need to reach the check in counter before the flight?

A: Check in opens two hours prior to scheduled departure and closes 30 minutes prior to departure. Please be sure to arrive at the departure gate with your boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Otherwise your reserved space may be cancelled and ineligible for denied booking compensation.

What is the Baggage Allowance limit?

A: For carry – on baggage: FMI Air will allow one piece of carry-on baggage not to exceed the dimensions of : 22”L x 14” W x 9”H. FMI Air will also allow one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, computer bag or item of similar size. All personal items must be able to be properly stowed.
For Checked Baggage: FMI Air allow two piece of checked baggage up to 20 kg total weight per ticketed adult or child passenger at no charge. If the two bags combined weight exceeds 20 kg, a charge of 3 USD per kg will be charged.
Any additional bags are charged at a flat rate of USD 3 per kg.
Infants have no baggage allowance. A fully collapsible stroller or pushchair and carry-cot or car seat may be checked in without charge.
Bags over 32 kg will not be accepted

What is the payment method and policy?

A: Full payment is required within 2 working days for cash payment and 5 working days for bank transfers. Payment deadlines for tickets are 2 days (48 hours) for individual booking and 7 days for group booking.

How do I know of any schedule changes or cancellation after I have purchased tickets?

A: Due to unforeseen travel conditions or other factors, we may have change the flight schedule. If there are any schedule changes or cancellations, passengers will be notified by email or telephone.

What is the Cancellation and Changes procedure?

A: Cancellation and date changes are allowed up to 1 hour prior to departure. All refunds will be given through an FMI Air voucher. Vouchers are valid for one year from date of issuance.

What is No Show Policy?

A: Passengers who present themselves after check in closing time will not permitted to board the flight and they will forfeit their seats without any refund or fee transfer.

What is the weather like in Myanmar?

A: Myanmar goes through three distinct seasons, and they’re all tropical: You’ll want clothes you’re comfortable getting sweaty in. From May to September, much of the county experiences monsoon season – though Mandalay and Bagan receive the least rain. From October to February, the country’s climate remains a balmy 23-35 degrees Celsius all day long. Rain is rare, so most travellers chose to visit at this time.From the end of February to late May is the hot season, when temperatures can reach 40 degrees Celsius. Many of the beautiful and ancient temples will require men and women to keep their legs covered to below the knee, as well as shoulders covered to the arm. In general, dress respectfully when exploring religious areas.

Do I need a visa?

A: Most non-ASEAN do, but it’s easy to acquire and costs US$50. Visit evisa.moip.gov.mm for more information. If you’re an ASEAN country citizen, you don’t need a visa!

What vaccines do I need to get?

A: Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines for any international travel. These include measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, polio vaccine and your yearly flu shot. Hepatitis B and hepatitis A vaccines are also recommended for travellers who plant to visit Myanmar’s smaller cities and rural areas, as well as typhoid boosters. Mosquito-borne viruses such as malaria and Japanese encephalitis are present in-country, and though shots are available, careful and thorough insect repellant application is the most effective way to ensure protection.
